Sweetgrass basket making is a lowcountry tradition which originated from West African over three hundred years ago. Sweetgrass is a soft pliable grass and so named because of its pleasant fragrance, which is like the smell of fresh hay.

 

Most items are made to requested size. Price will be determined based on size of selected item.

 

In the Crochet Shop, you can find a variety of hand-made items. All items can be made to requested size and color.
